It's YOUR YA Section!

Just a reminder - I'm always taking suggestions for books (and audio, CDs, etc) that you would like to see in the RML Teen Section.
I saw this list on the truly awesome Teen Librarian Toolbox site and had to share. Take a look and then tell me - what do you want to see on our shelves?

September at RML

I think we have finally cleared away the last remnants of Summer Reading here at the Library! As much fun as we have, it's nice to clean it all out when Summer is over. Now on to fall....
Some of you may not realize that we have a group called the FTLA (Fantastic Teen Library Assistants) here at RML. It's sort of half book-club and half service for the Library club. They meet on alternating Fridays here at the Library. If you are interested, just contact me with your information and I can pass it on to them. They will soon be sharing some book reviews here on this blog, so keep a lookout. Here are some pics of them helping out at past Library programs:

In book news, here are some recently purchased YA titles that will be available soon to check out:

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Tucholke
Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Michael Vey #3: Battle of the Ampere by Richard Paul Evans
Rogue by Gina D'amico
September Girls by Bennett Madison
This Side of Jealousy by Lili Peloquin
United We Spy by Ally Carter
The Walking Dark by Robin Wasserman

and in non-fiction:

Katniss Had Been Found for the Last Time!

I'm writing from Maine, but I have heard that Katniss was found today by Robert B.! Congrats!
Thanks to everyone who participated - it's awesome that she was found each week by a different person!
Final prize drawings are this Friday!
Though I'm not sure I ever want to come home after sitting out here under the stars in Ogunquit!

Katniss, Final Week, Clue #2

Clue #2:
When you're on your own in the wild, sometimes you have to fish for your dinner.
If she only knew...

Rock Candy!

We were experimenting with making rock candy last week at our "We Will Rock You" program - still waiting to see if it will work or not!

!
We also had fun painting and decoupaging rocks:

Katniss - Final Adventure!

Clue #1:
Katniss can be found near something ordinary.
